Page Scope
There are two different approaches for interfacing and collecting data from OptiTrack camera system onto MotionMonitor. Each method is appropriate for different types of research, clinical or sports applications: real-time data streaming and C3D file export. In these methods, The MotionMonitor xGen is the main software used for further processing tracking data from Motive. For each version of the software, the menu items and the layouts may slightly vary, however, the general workflows are similar between different versions.
Tracking data from OptiTrack system can be live-streamed into The MotionBuilder xGen (TTMxGen) software, and using this data, TTMxGen can build a biomechanical model, record, and analyze the skeleton tracking in real-time. The TTMxGen can also receive and process, in real-time, data collected from other third-party devices (force plates, EMG sensors, eye-tracking device, EEG sensors, instrumented treadmills, virtual reality devices, etc.) as well. This allows users to implement third-party devices along with the motion capture system for real-time analysis of a variety of different applications. C3D file export and import approach allows users to pipeline recorded capture data onto The MotionMonitor. The following section covers how to export the data out of Motive and how to import it onto The MotionMonitor xGen.
